Maybe another season. It has been a good run for Burrows. Great example of perseverance and drive.

No, it's not the referees who mostly despise him. Everyone despises him, and rightfully so. Anyone who would use the abuse someone went through as child as a weapon against them should be despised. And that's just what we know. Defending someone like that shows speaks volumes.
